My introduction to Medicare enrollment, CMS 855 forms, and the PECOS database began with the start of my law career in 2001, when representing health care providers and suppliers in acquisitions, mergers, and other internal reorganizations requiring new Medicare enrollments or the submission of updated enrollment forms.  Over the years, along with CMS’ changing enrollment rules, my practice expanded significantly in this area with routine involvement in revalidations, and providing advice to providers and suppliers affected by NPI crosswalk issues, deactivation, and revocations.  As a result of this growth in my practice, I have developed good working relationships with Medicare enrollment contractors, regional office staff, CMS provider and supplier enrollment staff and contractor liaisons.  I have become a Medicare enrollment Geek.
